when past lives come calling...and darkness attacks...the Holy Zohar can protect

As you become brighter and hold more and more light, don't be surprised if you attract unwanted attention or if you start bumping into people in your "day job" life that give you the creeps, make you uncomfortable, or just generally freak you out---and you're not sure why.


The first time this happened to me was several years ago. I had a new boss dropped on me in a most disturbing way and his energy just totally FREAKED me out for no logical reason. I'd never met the man before. Didn't run in the same circles and didn't even live in the same time zone. But it got so bad I had to call one of my mentors (the master who taught and trained me for my Usui Reiki Master Teacher & Karuna Reiki Master Teacher certs) for a session to see what was going on.


This mentor of mine did a healing session on me and used her very specific gift to tap into my energy body and see what was going on. And what she picked up was amazing! Apparently this new boss & I had a past life together.... where I ran the entire business and he took the credit...and he also was doing some shady things w/ the money that he let me take the fall for. In that life, I ended up in prison and actually starved to death in there because of this person who was now my boss. 


Having the session and clearing much of the old energy associated with that life helped tremendously. It also gave me a reason for why my gut did not like or trust this person, and a reason to make sure that any verbal/phone instructions where followed up in e-mail. 


This person was not my boss for long and was gone within 6 months... on to a new company. I got to help interview and select my next boss and things were calm and fine for the next ~18 months. Then this boss also quit and moved on to another firm.


In the meantime, another boss (my bosses boss who was a senior VP) appeared, and again my freakometer went off. In a different way. The previous one who freaked me out thought he was smarter than he was. This one was not only slimy but also very smart. That made him extremely dangerous. So my red alert status went to always ON and I bought a digital voice recorder so I could record phone calls if needed because this one also preferred phone calls to e-mail, where I would have an audit trail.


Things went on for a few weeks. And we had a run in over an integrity issue. A few weeks after that, another run in over one of my team (I was again providing basic PM and supervisor functions) who could not afford to float the money for a trip from the East Coast to New Mexico for an emergency trip that was required by the client. (In my mind, employees should not have to float expenses for the company they work for, but it was standard procedure for employees to do that for this company and then get reimbursed w/o the interest they would have to pay to their own credit card companies....grrrrr.)


Well, I got the advance and most of the expenses billed directly to the company, but he still had to float the car rental.  Funny thing was, though, I came down with a migraine that kept me from work for 2 days.


Now don't get me wrong....I've had plenty of migraines before. In my 20s hormones kicked them off monthly. As I grew older, they tended to be kicked off by stress. Now, I'm not going to share my age w/ you (;>) but let's just say my hormones are on the other end of the spectrum now from where they were in my 20s.  And the other thing I noticed was that this migraine didn't follow the same pattern ALL of my previous migraines had followed.  So I made a couple of phone calls, the first to my mentor again who tapped in and said "it's not you....it's coming from outside you. Call" and she named another mentor (in the same center) I'd been doing spiritual training with. 


Now this is where it gets weird (as if this entire entry isn't weird enough already). This mentor is also a gifted clairvoyant. I went in to see her and we settled in and she asked what was going on. Oddly enough, what came from my mouth (because my brain was thinking it was just some empath feeling) was "a couple of weeks ago I had this migraine, but it wasn't like any other migraine I've ever had."  And I described how I felt when this weird migraine was coming on. Then we went from there, tracking down what was different in my life... and what new people had entered my life.


Come to find out, one of HIS past lives was attacking ME! Even this spiritual teacher said that was extremely rare, but that's what it was. 


We didn't really know each other in this past life---but we knew OF each other. He was a very powerful, dark... some would say magician. Others would say sorcerer. Choose your own term---he was practicing dark arts with his talents and controlling people w/ energetic implants. "Mind control" is what those who weren't fully aware were calling it. 


In that life, I had a small group in much the same way I was now the super of this small group and I protected them from him the way I was now trying to protect my team from him.


The strange way the migraine come on was because this past life was attacking my crown & 3rd eye chakras, as well as my 2nd & 3rd. Think about those attack points for a moment. Crown--blocking the higher, divine energies. 3rd eye---blocking my psychic vision so I couldn't "see" what was happening. 2nd & 3rd chakras ---- self esteem, self confidence, and abundance centers. There was also an energetic implant at the base of my skull. 


She cleared the blockages, then tried to clear that past life of his and send it into the light. It refused to go and continued attacking me and trying to set the blockages & implants back in. She gave me some affirmations to say, which helped and finally pulled out her copy of the Holy Zohar and gave it to me to hold.


I'd never heard of this Zohar book, let alone seen one. I'd heard of the Kabbalah, but didn't even realize this little book was from it.  She explained a bit. (Update: she had a pocket-sized Pinchas that contains all the portions of the Zohar concerned with protection and health.)


The Zohar contains parts of the Kabbalah. You don't have to be able to read it to benefit from it. Just hold it. I did...and opened it and saw it was in Hebrew? (Later I'd discover it's in Aramaic. A very special flavor of Aramaic. The language in use in Jerusalem when the Christ walked the Earth. I'd also find out later that the Zohar contains those parts of the Kabbalah that address healing and protection.) 


She went on....it's cleared most of it in the little time you've been holding it. And you're going to need to use all of your spiritual protection tools because it won't go. 


That past life has caused him problems in this life. (Yes, he's still extremely controlling.) And someone in this life also asked for this healing (even though the trouble making life would not leave).  Get a copy of the Zohar. It's not expensive, it's like $10 and keep it in your bag with you. And use everything else you know to protect yourself as well. Use the affirmations ("I am filled with divine light. I am filled with divine truth. The Truth and the Light protect me.") At the time, I told her all I picked up intuitively from this guy was "dark cloud" or "black cloud."  And she nodded. She told me to keep looking and as I got stronger, 'you'll see more and more what he really is." Then she sent me on my way.


I *did* feel better. Lighter. Easier. And as soon as I got home, I went to Amazon and ordered a copy of the Zohar. I also found electronic copies of it and downloaded one at work and one at home. The electronic copy (in Aramaic) doesn't pack near the energetic wallop the print version does, but it helped keep me clear until it arrived. When I felt drained, I'd pop up the PDF version & scroll to a page that felt "right."


Then about a week after my print copy arrived, I was looking for more Zohars because I wanted to place some in various places:  the car, the night tables in the bedroom, etc. and I ran across this site that also had 72 name rings. And I ordered the last protection ring she had. At the time, I didn't know it was the last one. She told that later when I tried to order a second one. :) The protection ring contains 5 of the 72 names of God in Hebrew. The 5 names most associated with the protection of God. (Update: the ring contains the one name most associated with protection 5 times.)


So, that was my introduction to the power of Zohar and the 72 names of God. A pretty powerful introduction. I haven't been troubled since, and in fact my 3rd vision has been getting stronger. I sleep w/ a Zohar and meditate each morning and evening with it. I even try and grab a few minutes at lunchtime with it. I can't read Aramaic, but I hold it and open it and let it rest on my 3rd eye and heart, it's light literally BLASTING into my soul. And my 3rd eye is strong enough now to "see" this man for what he really is. And it's not pretty. In fact, the "eye" that stares back at me when I look his direction during these meditation times contains a vertical pupil. It's reptilian.

Energy & Cooking: make sure the food you're putting in your mouth is made w/ love

I was talking to a friend a FB the other day (she's a school counselor) because she had posted something about offering a therapeutic cooking class. To which I chimed in and pointed out that many believe that you should not be cooking for your family when in a foul, angry, or negative mood because your energy is also infused into the food while you're preparing it and in a very real sense you'll be feeding that dark energy to your family. Better to wait until the foulness has passed and you can ensure that the only energy getting infused into the food you and everyone else is about to eat is filled with love, joy, and happy emotions.


Many cultures apply this rule not only to cooking but also to making crafts, especially when whatever is produced will be used daily and in close contact with you or whoever you're giving the item to. For example, quilts for bedding; afghans & throws whether sewed, crocheted, or knitted; ceremonial clothing; medicine bags; mojo bags; and so forth. 


If you look closely you'll see this in many different spiritual beliefs and many different cultural beliefs. And I believe there's a decent basis for it. Think about it. If most of us would SLOW DOWN enough to prepare a decent meal infused with love, joy, and peaceful energy our digestion would be better and as a nation there would be less acid reflex & indigestion. 


Slowing down enough would also help us all keep our waists a bit smaller. :) It takes the brain 15 to 20 minutes to realize there's food in your stomach after you begin eating. So if you're eating in a rush (like most do for lunch grabbed and eaten at your desk), chances are you're wolfing down more calories and simple carbs than you think before your brain even knows there's something on the way! 


Infusing your food with energy intentionally is something many learn in their first level Reiki energy healing class. Using the Reiki Power Symbol over your food before eating it can help to boost its nutritional value as well as help clear it of some things that might not be very good for us. 


If you grow your own herbs or tomato plants or have a small garden, you can take this a step further by infusing your plants with Reiki or healing energy while they're growing. 


And yes indeed, talking is good for plants. It might be because you're breathing CO2 on them (which they use and then give us O2 for in exchange), it might be because they are Alive and in some studies have shown responses you might not think possible, like recognizing a person who has destroyed one of them. (See The Secret Life of Plants, originally published in the early 70s and still in print! http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Life-Plants-Peter-Tompkins/dp/0060915870/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322205263&sr=8-2) In any case, plants love Reiki and healing energy and they will flourish if you provide this to them on a regular basis. If you don't know Reiki, just talk to them and focus on them and send them positive, healing thoughts and thank them for the job they do. Intention means everything in energy healing work.


A similar work has been done on water in the books by Masaru Emoto (http://www.amazon.com/Masaru-Emoto/e/B001IODMIY/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1). The books contain images showing the crystalline structure of water just normally, after it's been blessed, after words of love and appreciation have been spoken to it, and after words of hate and darkness are spoken. The crystalline structure is most beautiful and strong after we speak to it in love and thank it for sustaining us.


Anyway, there's some food for thought at the end of this Thanksgiving day. :)

We talk about entities on the main website and some of the books recommended are about Lorraine Warren and her spouse. ghost story #3: The Legend of Silver Heels

This is our third and final ghost story for October, and it's one of my personal favorites. You'll see versions of it on the web, in mountain eatery's, in and around Alma (which is about 18 miles south of Breckenridge) and Alma's grave yard. 

The story comes from Buckskin Joe, which was a small mining camp a couple miles west of present-day Alma. Today, Buckskin Joe is one of many ghost towns in the mountains of Colorado, but back-in-the day it was the County Seat of Park County. (Today, Fairplay - about 6 miles farther south than Buckskin Joe - is the county seat and has a restored 1880s mining town, South Park City.) The picture below is the original courthouse from Buckskin Joe. 

The town of Buckskin Joe started life as a mining camp and grew tremendously during the 1850s during the gold rush. Once the gold was mined out the population dwindled to a handful. 

Silverheels was a dance hall girl. No one remembers her real name, but she was very beautiful and an accomplished dancer when she appeared in Buckskin Joe's during the height of the gold rush. She quickly became a favorite. 

As was the custom in early gold mining camps, fans showed appreciation by tossing  "pokes" (small leather bags) of gold dust on stage at her feet. She accumulated enough from the pokes to build a small cabin across the stream from camp. Legend says she accumulated a small fortune by saving gold from the pokes. One admirer fashioned a pair of solid silver heels for her dancing slippers. The silver heels became her trademark and the source of her nickname, Silverheels.  

Then, in 1861 disaster stuck in the form of a smallpox epidemic. Most of the miners stayed in camp for fear of claim jumpers, while most of the women and children were sent to Fairplay or Denver. Silverheels, however, choose to stay behind in camp.

She transformed herself from dancer to devoted nurse and took care of the sick and comforted the dying. Many men died of the highly contagious and usually fatal disease while cradled in her arms. 

Inevitably, she caught smallpox as well but did survive. Her beautiful face was disfigured by pockmarks. When the epidemic had finally run its course, the "Angel of Mercy" left town but returned often to offer prayers at the graves. 

If you visit Alma today and seek out the area of Buckskin Joe's, you may see a figure moving along in the long abandoned graveyard. She's elegantly dressed in Victorian-era finery. She wears a long, black, silk dress and a black, silk broad-rimmed hat. The hat holds a heavy veil preserving the privacy of her grief, and shielding her face from view. 

The original wooden grave markers have long since rotted away, but you can bet Silverheels knows where each and every one is. She moves slowly from one grave to another, placing a single red rose and offering at prayer at each. She may seem oblivious to the living, but if you try and approach she'll disappear. This is the ghost of Silverheels.

The grateful citizens who survived the epidemic name a nearby peak Mount Silverheels in her honor. A pic of it is shown below. It stands 13,825 feet high.

ghost story #2: the gang from Robber's Roost

Just west of La Porte, Colorado on scenic state highway 14 outside of Ft. Collins, a family of tourists from Ohio was traveling and taking in the scenic views of the mountains.  It was early fall in the canyon of the Cache La Poudre River and the red rocks varied from a deep maroon in shadow to brilliant scarlet in the full sun. The golden leaves of the aspen trees against the deep green of the evergreens complimented the turquoise sky and wispy white clouds so that it was a picture perfect day. Even the kids in the back had quit bickering and were taking in the mountains.


Then they saw a 3 guys on horseback dart onto the road from the cover of a large grove of evergreens. They were dressed in classic 19th-century Western gear:  tattered jeans, cowboy boots, leather chaps, checkered blue-flannel shirts, leather vests, and broad-rimmed felt hats. Each of them also had a gun belt slung low on their hips and a Colt .45 pointed at the family.


As Dad stomped on the brakes of the SUV, he looked around for a film crew, so perfect was the reproduction that they must be filming a Western nearby. He was waiting to hear "CUT" yelled out. But there was no one else in sight. Not another car or truck or person. It was just the family and the 3 robbers on horseback pointing their guns at them.


No one said a thing. The 3 robbers motioned with their guns for the family to get out of the SUV. They clamored out and stood silently with their shaky hands held high in the air facing the thugs.


KABLAM! The explosive sound startled everyone and the family watched what appeared to be a reddish-colored cannonball hurtling across the road and crashing into the trees behind the robbers. Instantly the robbers their guns and their horses all disappeared. 
  
The family continued standing there in the middle of the road in front of their SUV with their hands held high for a long moment after. They didn't moved (except for putting their hands down) until a State Police cruiser pulled up behind them with its lights flashing. The trooper got out and came up to them. "Any reason why you folks are stopped smack in the middle of the road?" "Did your engine die? Do you need help?"


Mom spoke up since the others hadn't yet recovered their voices. She told the trooper what had just happened and the trooper was understandably skeptical. The youngest broke into the conversation pointing to the swatch of freshly broken tree limbs by the side of the road saying, "that's where the cannonball hit! You can't ignore that!" 


The trooper replied "Yes, something crashed into those trees but it wasn't an artillery shell. It was a falling rock. It happens now and then, especially this time of the year. Water goes into cracks in the rocks, then freezes during the frosty fall nights. The crack becomes a split and eventually loosened chunks of rock fall down."


"That's not what happened," said an unexpected voice from the back of the trooper's car. "you saw some ghosts from Robbers Roost, right up the cliff there. A bunch of robbers used to hole up there and rob travelers on the old La Porte-to-Ft. Laramie Trail. That there Robbers Roost was such a natural fort that the army had to use a cannon to persuade the bad guys to give it up." 


"Pay no attention to old Sam there," interjected the trooper. "I picked him up drunk as a skunk and I'm taking him home. He's harmless but he likes to tell old stories."


Was it falling rocks or cannonballs that chased off the phantom robbers? Most old timers and  tourists are inclined to believe old Sam . . . even if he is an old drunk.

October is ghost story month: #1 Legend of the Moaning Sand Dunes of Death

This October, I thought I'd try something a bit different. Since it is the time when the veil is the thinnest, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share some good, old fashioned Colorado ghost stories with everyone. :)  This is the first in the series. Enjoy!


The origin of the Great Sand Dunes  in the 80 sq mi Great Sand Dunes National Monument is not especially controversial. They are thought to be the remnants of an ancient inland sea, long since evaporated. The winds blew the exposed sands across the San Luis Valley and up against the western edge of the Sangre de Cristo (Blood of Christ) mountains. The highest peak of these mountains is a 14er (Sierra Blanca Peak is 14,345 ft), so the sands are trapped at the foot of the mountains. President Herbert Hoover was the one who designated the national monument in 1932 and he believed that the only possible value of the "sea of sand" was in its unique, forbidding scenery.  Geologist and ecologists know the dunes as "singing sands" --- when the wind blows, the sand grains have been so rounded and perfected over time that when the winds kick up, it blows through the spaces between the grains causing a singing or moaning sound. Tourists can also cause this sound when they're "sand skiing" down the slopes. Visitors are always warned not to venture too far into the dunes... because the landscape constantly changes so it's easy to become lost.


There are American Indian legends of the dunes dating back to ancient times telling of their evil nature. They have long been known as a region of death and disappearance. There are stories of lost Indians, vanished sheepherders, and even entire wagon trains that have gone missing around the dunes. The sand is quite deep in some places, up to 1500 feet down to bedrock and they routinely reach over 750 feet in height. Bodies and body parts have been found in the dunes, along with skulls polished until they gleamed.


The Indians tell tales of a web-footed horses that appear along the edges of the dunes near dusk and dawn. Their webbed feet allow them to race across the sands, luring people to chase after them. Those who did, were never seen again.


Early during the white settlement of the area, there is a story of a pair of sheepherders who wanted to take their flock from the valley up to the higher meadows for summer grazing. To do this, they needed to skirt the dunes at Mosca Pass. The two lead a pack train of mules loaded with supplies, and a herd of 1,000 sheep along the flanks of the dunes. None of them survived the trip.


Another story tells of a wagon train that stopped at the edge of the dunes where shallow stream of cool, clear water was. It seemed the perfect place to camp for the night. By morning, the wagons, wagon master, all the animals and people had vanished. And the stream was gone. 

Perhaps the most chilling story is the story of the Martinez family. The Indians warned them not to try and homestead in the shadow of the dunes because the dunes harbor evil spirits and could shift hundreds of feet in one stormy night. But the family ignored the warning. One day their young son stumbled into a distant ranch, dazed and unable to speak. The sheriff found his parents sitting at the table in their home --- dead --- their mouths filled with sand and dinner plates piled high with sand. 


The rancher, where the boy had gone for help, took in the boy who made himself useful tending sheep. One day a sandstorm enveloped the boy and the sheep. Neither were seen again. 


Be cautious when visiting the Dunes. The park closes at dusk, so don't linger long once night falls. And be careful if you go out the play and "sand ski" during the day. The Dunes have a long history of taking the living.

energy healing & self treatments

This time we're talking about self treatment using healing energy. For those of you who have been trained in some form of Reiki, or Therapeutic Touch, or even just exposed to Tai Chi, Chi Gong, or any form of energy work, you already know what I'm talking about. 


For those who have not been trained or exposed to this type of healing, I'll explain how you can use your own body's life force (chi), or even channel the life force of the universe (God, the Creator, the Divine, the infinite source, whatever name you want to use) to help yourself and others heal. And yes, you can also ask the angels to help you with this, because they are very good at moving healing energy through you and around you and helping you move healing energies through you and around you.


Chi, Prana, & Ka
Let's talk about the Chi model first, since it's a bit easier to understand. Chi, from Traditional Chinese Medicine, or Prana in Sanskrit from India, or Ka from Ancient Egypt, all refer to the same thing: the spirit or life force of your body. Sometimes it's also translated as the "life breath" of the body. 


You'll remember from our basic discussion of energy healing and chakras how when you're  energetically out of balance, that disharmony eventually shows itself as a physical ill. Or conversely, when you have a traumatic injury you are suffering not only from the physical injury but also an injury to your energetic body. 


The simplest example of using your own Chi to help others is when mom used to rub her hands together and place them on your knees after you fell down. Or when she would "kiss it and make it better." Or when you'd stick a wounded finger into your own mouth. (There are other reasons dogs lick their wounds beside this---their saliva contains healing enzymes, many of them antibacterial, to help the wound heal faster.)


There's an easy way you can "feel" the chi of your own body, if you have not paid attention to it before.  Simply rub the palms of your hands together quickly....then move them (still facing each other) a short distance apart. You'll still feel the energy moving between them. This is the chi of your own body.


Using the laying-on-of-hands to help yourself or others feel better is as old as mankind. There are academic studies that postulate Jesus was using some type of "Reiki" when he laid his hands on the sick to heal them. I don't know about that, but it is an interesting thought.


Channeling Energy Healing
The difference between Reiki or Therapeutic Touch or some other form of energy healing where an attunement of some type was involved is this:  instead of using your own body's chi or healing energy, you are channeling the chi or healing energy of the creator, the divine, the infinite source, whatever name you would like to give your understanding of God. That's it, in a nutshell. The attunement enables the ability to channel healing energy from the divine source. 


Now, I know some of you may be uncomfortable with the word "channel." It made me uncomfortable at first, too.  Think of it like this:  A straw is a "channel" for whatever your're drinking. A prophet is a "channel" for the information they are sharing. A teacher is a "channel" for delivering knowledge to their classroom. In this sense, the channel is simply the delivery system. Think of yourself as a tool for the work of the divine. 


The chief advantage of channeling the energy versus using your own energy (chi) is multifaceted. 

1. You can drain yourself when using your chi alone, but when tapping into the divine source and channeling the energy, it never runs out. It is also infinite.
   
   
2. Using your own energy can literally exhaust you, while using the divine source is never exhausting. In fact, it will fill you with energy.
   
   
3. You are directing your chi when you use it. When channeling the divine source and the best healer, the energy goes where it is needed first. That may not always be the physical ill first, often there are mental and emotional wounds that are just as deep if not deeper than the physical ill.
   
   
4.  "Dark energy" does not affect you. What I'm referring to here is that when a client is terminal or fighting a terminal illness, as a healer working on them you can often feel the "dark energy" leave their body and come into yours while you are treating them. As long as you are channeling healing energy from the divine, infinite source, there is no reason to  fear. Simply keep working and the "dark energy" will start flowing away at a certain point.
   
   I experienced this first hand when treating my own mother who was battling cancer. As I treated her, I felt this dark energy enter both of my hands and move up my arms to my shoulders. It paused there for a bit, and as I continued treating her, it eventually withdrew down my arms and left. Now, if I had been simply been using my own chi for the healing, chances are this dark energy movement would have freaked me out a bit more.
   
   
5. Channeling the healing energy of the divine, infinite source also helps heal and strengthen you and your own relationship with that source. You cannot be a straw without getting wet. And working with the healing energy from the divine, infinite source will strengthen your own faith and healing. Most healers have had deep wounds of some type, and often we continue to learn from those wounds as layers of healing peel it back like an onion.
   
   
6. When treating yourself, you still channel the divine, infinite healing energies and as such they treat you where you need it most first, whether that is the emotional body, mental body, or the physical body. Healing occurs on all levels.

Involving the Angels

Now, using the basics we discussed above, you can also ask the angels to help you during your healing session. Raphael and Haniel are the most frequent helpers and visitors during healing sessions, but call the other archangels as you are moved to. Depending on what you are working on, you may also feel the need to ask Raziel and Metatron to assist as well. 

If wanted, you can even envision Raphael and the others beaming healing energy into your own body and helping as you treat yourself. There are some body parts it's just not easy for us to treat ourselves! Talk to them as you would friends, and listen for their replies.

Free Will or views from an Abundance vs a Scarcity mentality

This week we're talking about Free Will, or for those older Trekkies it's like the Prime Directive in the spiritual world. Free Will is the #1 rule in metaphysics and cosmic spirituality. Like the Prime Directive from Star Trek, it is the directive of Non-Interference. 


Because of this primary rule, Angels or any other light beings cannot "interfere" in our lives or our life lessons unless we ask them for help. Of course, those beings whose vibrational level may not be as high as ours may not even be aware of this prime directive rule or they may willing ignore it. That is their choice, and they will suffer the consequences of that choice, especially in the effects of karma visited back on that soul in subsequent lives and situations. 


So, it's because of this rule that we must remember to Ask for Help, and help is instantly and lovingly sent to us. So for those of us who tend to be very independent and who may have a hard time asking for help, but please understand that asking for help is NOT a sign of weakness. In fact, it's a sign of spiritual maturity in that you have recognized the illusions of the physical world and that you are now acknowledging the much wider universe and lifeforms and teachers and students and so forth.


Free Will. Because of this primary law, it is also why my personal political views tend to fall more towards the Libertarian side of the equation. Libertarians (not all, but most) tend to be a lot who are fiscally conservative and believe in small government, because they believe in more Individual Freedom (social "liberals" if you will). 


What happens when government grows and it makes people dependent on it for everything (food, housing, income, healthcare, etc.) is that for it to provide those things to Everyone (the Collective or the Many), it infringes more and more on EACH INDIVIDUAL's RIGHTS by levying more & more taxes and more and more regulation and more and more rules. And as everyone knows, taxes have Never Been a voluntary payment (like donating to charity), but are indeed a Forced payment, and what many also realize is that this is counter to the founding documents and framework of our country, which is founded on INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. (Personally I think that's why the Great Experiment has been so successful --- because of its recognition of Individual Rights and Free Will.) 


Let's take welfare for example. Now, those of you who have ordered my e-book (it will be on Amazon by Sept 1) are familiar with my background and upbringing. You know that I came from a very poor family and was raised on a farm from the age of 4 or 5 until I was ~11 where there was no running water and no indoor plumbing. Back in those days poverty was measured by whether you had running water, indoor plumbing, and electricity; not by whether you had a microwave, cell phone, and wide screen TV.  (Notice the change in baseline there...)


I remember a time right after we moved to the farm when my dad retired and mom hadn't found a job yet. (It would only be years later that I learned mom was getting her GED and finishing an AAS correspondence course so she could get a nursing job.) Now during that time, we were on food stamps for a short period. As soon as mom found a job we got off food stamps as quickly as possible, because at that time food stamps and welfare or assistance of any kind was still a source of shame to the family. (My people [an older, country term used to refer to your blood relatives] called it "relief" not welfare. The term "relief" goes back to the Great Depression when FDR created the "relief" or welfare program.)  


I would often hear mom muttering (especially when telling me to wash behind my ears) that "we may be poor but that's no reason to be dirty." And in that rural area in those days it wasn't unusual at all to see a family with 3, 4 , or more kids with dirty faces in the grocery store or gas station. 


So, please understand that I do believe in providing a financial safety net for those who may occasionally need help, but you do NOT stay on that financial safety net w/o trying to better yourself and get off of public assistance. It's a 'safety net' not a freaking way of life. We were raised to Take Care of Yourself and to be Responsible for Yourself.  No one owes you a damn thing. In fact, years later I was talking to mom on the phone about something at work and whining (yes, hard to believe isn't it? lol) about something not being fair. And she actually said to me, "No one ever promised you it would be fair. No one ever promised you a thing."  


And she was Right. After soaking that in for a while, it changed my attitude tremendously---because no one owed me anything. And the world was not and still is not fair. So you just need to deal with it. What we DO have in this country is the opportunity or playing field that is the same for everyone. The same rules for everyone.  


Opportunity here is not limited by who your parents are, who you are related to, who you're married to, or who you know. It also not limited by how much money you have. Yes, it helps, but in this day and age stories of Internet entrepreneurs making millions is not unheard of. Even smaller goals such as just making 6 figures in this way are now common-place success stories. You can start a company or a business and provide a product or service, and IF there is a market for it (marketing is a whole other area...see my marketing website:  www.MelodieHawkins.com) it will sell and you will be a success.


Everyone here has the same opportunity to be a success. Now, will some have to work harder at it than others? Of course!  It's like losing weight or learning. We have different skills and different talents and for some, success will come easier than others. Some will have a harder climb, but the opportunity to succeed as you see fit and as you define it, the opportunity to craft your life the way YOU want it to be is there. You WILL have to work for it, because no one will hand it to you on a silver platter. But we ALL  have the same opportunity to make a success of our lives in the best way that we see fit.  Now, that's Free Will.  :) 


Some will do it one way and some will do it another. The size of the pie is NOT LIMITED. When we start our own businesses and act on our own ideas, we are actually GROWING the size of the pie. Think about that for a moment, because it's an entirely different mind set from the one who thinks the size of the pie is set. It's the difference in seeing things from a ABUNDANCE view point versus a SCARCITY view point.  (And by the way, those 2 issues are 2nd chakra issues, so if you're having physical problems in that area, I would also not be surprised if you were also exhibiting abundance & scarcity issues.)


Now, let's look at this from a metaphysical point of view. Many of my metaphysical friends believe in helping others. So do I. Where we often differ is that often they think that help should come from the government via the "redistribution of wealth" whereas I believe that I should be able to CHOOSE where I donate my time and my money, rather than having it decided for me by the government. The difference between the two is that of FREE WILL and INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. Their viewpoint would Impose their beliefs on others, wheres mine leaves each individuals' beliefs and practices up to them.

Working with the Angels: Clearing and Blessing your Home

We’ve been busy working on the e-book version of of our DIY booklet, so if you like that little gem, you’ll enjoy the e-book even more. It contains more information and more detail on everything from the angels we most frequently work with to the crystals and stones that are associated with them, and even a bit of history for some stones like turquoise and lapis lazuli.

clearing your space on a regular basis

You know how it is — you mean to do it, you try and do it on a regular basis, you always feel better after you do it, the problem is finding the time to do it.  No, not working out (but all of those apply to that too!  ) we’re talking about clearing your space on a regular basis.

It’s not hard to do (and our complimentary DIY booklet that we send as a thank you for signing up for our newsletter tells you how to do it). Anyone can do it. But it does take a little planning (gather up your incense or sage or essential oils) and a little time (start at the top or bottom of the house for a “quickie” include the property line if you have time).

So, should you put it on your calendar along with all the other things you “have” to do? Sure, if that works for you.

Should you just get into a routine and do it every other week or once a month or once a week?  Sure, if that works for you.

What about just waiting until you “feel” like it needs it?  Sure, that will work too and in fact that’s my preferred method. The reason is that people have differnt comfort levels, and as you work on clearing your own stuff and raising your own energy level what you’ll start to notice is that as you become more and more sensitive to the higher vibes, you’ll want to clear your space more and more frequently. And that’s perfectly normal and natural.

Your increased sensitivity means you’ll be “shining” brighter and brighter, which makes you more and more attractive to all sorts of entities and spirits. As more and more gather around you more frequently you feel like clearing your space more and more frequently.

So, use your intuition. Listen to your gut. And after you clear your space a few times and see how good it feels, I bet you’ll be doing it more often.
